Resources in Irving and the Mid-Cities

ORLC offers many helping ministries, including English classes, Latin Cardio classes, citizenship classes, and more. Our church also offers assistance with food (our Food Pantry is open Tuesday mornings from 9:00-12:30) and can help with certain financial needs in case of an emergency. Click here to learn more.

  • If you are a woman in a physically or emotionally abusive situation, the Genesis Women's Support agency can help. They offer counseling services in English and in Spanish, legal aid, temporary shelter and case management support. All of their services are free. Their hotline is 214-946-4357.

  • If you are a person (man/woman/child) in a physically or emotionally abusive situation, The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.

    Their 24-Hour crisis hotline is 214-941-1991.

  • We understand that life can be extremely difficult if you have to live on the streets. Irving has several agencies, from homeless shelters to relocation programs, to help you.

  • Crisis Ministries of Irving assists individuals and families in crisis by meeting some of their physical and spiritual needs. They partner with various other non-profits to address the needs of the individual holistically.

    Irving Cares provides focused assistance for Irving residents to address a financial crisis. They offer a food pantry and participate in other events and activities to support those in need.

    Many Helping Hands provides local homeless with meals, clothing, hygiene kits, haircuts, and more. MHH also services an overnight shelter when at Christ Church in Irving when the temperature dips below freezing.

  • At ORLC, we believe that God has created every person, including an unborn child, with the intention that they should have life.

  • There are many ways to receive pro bono legal services or legal services at a reduced rate.

  • If you have a difficult situation or think you or a loved one may be experiencing a mental health issue, there are reduced-rate resources available to you. Call 214-526- 4525 to speak to the Pastoral Counseling Center of Dallas about your options. Our church also has pastors available to help.

  • Resources through the Medicare system are available to many people in our country to help offset costs of health care. Resources are even available for immigrants and non-English speakers.
